Our History
CCEDC is a federally funded tax-exempt California non-profit corporation formed by Mr. Kaifa Tulay, a local business man and philanthropist, as a result of his desire to provide not only housing for mid-income families but also provide educational training opportunities. He has successfully developed affordable housing in South Central, Los Angeles as well as in the MacArthur Park and Silver Lake areas. These housing developments provide affordable housing to predominantly African America, Hispanic, and Korean families in areas desperately in need of quality, affordable housing.
Having successfully developed these projects, Mr. Tulay formed Central City Economic Development Corporation in 1996 to continue to develop quality affordable housing and also to establish and deliver viable technical educational training programs in each of the apartment properties. The first of which was the Arlington-Rodeo project.
Each of the developments are designed to include large community rooms which serve as the computer and technical training sites for the kids attending schools near our sites.
